| Okay. First off, let me admit to having very low expectations of this movie. I'd read the internet hype and thought I was in for a travesty. That said, this movie set out to do exactly what it intended. It delivers a fun ride with some cheesy lines, Sam Jackson dropping the F-bomb, some over-the-top action, a huge number of interesting deaths and a little nudity to boot. In all honesty, I don't know how to review this film. I guess it's easiest to say "It does what it says on the tin". The acting is cheesy. The characters are fun if a bit cookie-cutter. The special FX are obvious CG. The story is only there as a backdrop to set up the scenario (and doesn't wrap up totally in the end). But...it's fun nonetheless. If the whole idea of this movie seem too ludicrous to watch, you're probably not going to like it. On the other hand, if you want a movie that knows exactly how inane it is and revels in it, you'll have a blast. I know I did. Back to Reviews |
