I've always been a fan of werewolf films and I have seen so many bad ones that I am always leary at each and every viewing...especially when the film is a local low budget flick. The Beast in Me follows the tale of a young man at the end of his rope trying to keep his lycanthropic rampages in check. The cinematography is very dark and gothic and is wonderfully fitting to the story. The FX, while not the best, are played very well and enhanced by editing, especially during the main transformation scene. The film has it's weaknesses, but luckily, director Jason McCann knew his limitations and played to his strengths to make a werewolf film worthy of watching. |
